Chronic Pain

While pain serves a useful and vital function in our lives, chronic pain isn't normal, especially when the patient didn't suffer an injury or other direct cause of the chronic pain. Often chronic pain originates from lower back pain, headache, neck pain, and even arthritis.

Some patients even suffer depression associated with their chronic pain. It's thought that chronic pain sufferers are as much as 80% more likely to suffer depression. Combining the two often leads to agitation, lack of sleep, inability to focus on tasks; all of which lead to a cycle of either further depression and pain which of course feeds the other.

The Good News Is Dr. Sakhai Understands

and knows how to diagnose your chronic pain to see if chiropractic care can alleviate your suffering.

Aside from staying active and avoiding pain stressing activities, Dr. Sakhai can work with you on:

  • Relaxation exercises
  • Movement therapy
  • Posture and positioning consultation
  • Pain and discomfort avoidance

Visiting a standard physician will probably result in the go-to treatments for your chronic pain. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), acetaminophen (Tylenol) and even opioids (OxyContin, Vicodin, etc.) are all common physician prescribed solutions. The problem is they don't help your body cope, reduce, or remove the source of the pain. Instead these solutions all mask the pain and create a cycle of dependence on the drugs.

Dr. Sakhai practices chiropractic care in Huntsville Alabama and the greater Tennessee Valley and can help you find a way to attack your chronic pain in the legs, shoulders, back, neck, headache, hips and more. Dr. Sakhai looks at prescription drugs as a last resort when treating patients with chronic pain and tries proven chiropractic methods first before ever referring you to addictive treatments that can have negative side effects.

We look forward to hearing from you
